Rod end bearings are articulating joints that combine a spherical plain bearing with a threaded shank, allowing linkages to pivot while accommodating misalignment. They handle radial and axial loads and are widely used in automotive and autosport applications (suspension, steering, gear linkages), as well as industrial and hydraulic systems.
Rod ends are available as male (external thread) or female (internal thread), and with right-hand or left-hand threads to suit adjuster setups. Material options include steel for strength and load capacity (often requiring lubrication), maintenance-free designs with liners such as PTFE / PTFE fabric / composite for low friction without relubrication, and stainless steel versions for improved corrosion resistance.
